Competition Schedule & Syllabus Design
Each of the winners of the Selection Round (Grp-A-50 + B-50 =100) has to face the following 3 Sessions:
1. Opening Session: 4 Rounds (4×25=100 students, 60 to be eliminated).
2. Quarter Final: 2 Rounds (2×20=40 students, 30 to be eliminated).
3. Grand Finale: 1 Round (Top Ten: 5+5=10 students).
1st, 2nd & 3rd from each group to be selected out of Top Ten.
Syllabus Design
(Grammar, vocabulary & language in practice -from respective levels)
1. Opening Session:
a. Grammar: Parts of Speech (simple ideas), Tenses & their uses, sentence elements (to understand & identify words, phrases & clauses used as subjects, objects, complements, etc.) & to be skilled in statements, yes/no questions, wh-questions, tags, etc.
b. Vocabulary: common words & their kinds (with meanings), synonyms & antonyms.
c. Language in Practice: presentation on popular topic (your parents, home, country, language, institutions, environment, etc.)
2. Quarter Final:
a. Grammar: use of modals, active & passive voice, direct & indirect speech, use of modifiers (adjectives, adverbs, etc.), phrases & clauses (to understand & identify simple, compound & complex sentences), sentence connectors (conjunctions, relative pronouns, etc.).
b. Vocabulary: word kinds & their changes (verbs to nouns, nouns to verbs, adjectives, etc. with their meanings), synonyms & antonyms.
c. Language in Practice: presentation on popular topic.
3. Grand Finale:
a. Grammar : Review of the previous two sessions.
b. Vocabulary : Review of the previous two sessions.
c. Language in Practice : Review of the previous two sessions.
